Dental Implant

More and more people are getting dental implants to replace missing teeth. They're a long-term solution that is imbedded in your jawbone, just like your natural teeth. Unlike fixed bridges or removable dentures, dental implants will not affect neighboring healthy teeth or lead to bone loss in the jaw. If properly cared for, dental implants can last a long time.  Learn more

How dental implant surgery is performed depends on the type of implant and the condition of your jawbone. Dental implant surgery may involve several procedures. The major benefit of implants is solid support for your new teeth — a process that requires the bone to heal tightly around the implant. Because this bone healing requires time, the process can take many months.

Dental Implant Procedure

Dental implant surgery is a procedure that replaces tooth roots with metal, screwlike posts and replaces damaged or missing teeth with artificial teeth that look and function much like real ones. Dental implant surgery can offer a welcome alternative to dentures or bridgework that doesn't fit well and can offer an option when a lack of natural teeth roots don't allow building denture or bridgework tooth replacements.

Implants fuse to a jawbone to provide stable support for artificial teeth. Dentures and bridges mounted to implants won't slip or shift in your mouth, which especially important benefit when eating and speaking. This secure fit helps the dentures and bridges, as well as individual crowns placed over implants, feel more natural than conventional bridges or dentures. Ask your dental professional if dental implant is for you.

TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

  • Endosteal (in the bone): This is the most commonly used type of implant. The various types include screws, cylinders or blades surgically placed into the jawbone. Each implant holds one or more prosthetic teeth. This type of implant is generally used as an alternative for patients with bridges or removable dentures.
  • Subperiosteal (on the bone): These are placed on top of the jaw with the metal framework's posts protruding through the gum to hold the prosthesis. These types of implants are used for patients who are unable to wear conventional dentures and who have minimal bone height.

Dental Implant Treatment

The primary treatment for the dental implant(s) is pain management, so in addition to the StellaLife VEGA Oral Care Recovery Kit, your dental professional may prescribe painkillers and send you home with directions on how to use ice packs.

Ask your dentist about our all-natural VEGA Oral Care Recovery Kit to significantly accelerate healing and reduce the need for pain medication. StellaLife encourages patients with leftover medication to return the pills to a local pharmacist. Parents who monitor their medicine cabinet and their children's medications can help stop painkiller addiction

The patented StellaLife VEGA Oral Care Recovery Kit provides pain relief and has been clinically found to speed up healing. Dental professionals have found it effective in the pain management and recovery following dental surgical procedures. The 16 active ingredients contain analgesic (pain relief), anti-inflammatory (swelling relief) and antibacterial properties. It is easy to use when following the instructions on the label.
