Procedure

During wisdom tooth extraction, your dentist or oral surgeon:

• Makes an incision in the gum tissue to expose the tooth and bone
• Removes bone that blocks access to the tooth root
• Divides the tooth into sections if it's easier to remove in pieces
• Removes the tooth
• Cleans the site of the removed tooth of any debris from the tooth or bone
• Stitches the wound closed to promote healing, though this isn't always necessary
• Places gauze over the extraction site to control bleeding and to help a blood clot form

Patients are sent home with instructions for diet modifications and other measures to help manage the expected postsurgical pain and swelling. 

Complications are rare, but dry socket typically has the highest prevalence, occurring in about 5 to 10 percent of patients.  Dry sockets often lead to pain and inflammation. The sign that you may have a dry socket is an intense throbbing pain that may radiate to your temple, ear, eye area or neck. Managing a dry socket with over-the-counter medications won't give you the relief you need. Patients who develop any postsurgical complications should contact their doctors immediately. 

Treatment

Dry socket hero!

"I never write reviews but for this product I had to! Just got my wisdom teeth removed and my bottem socket started to hurt really bad. Pain radiated up to my ear, I couldn’t sleep on that side and the socket was extremely swollen (I could feel it pulsing). The socket has been hurting for a week and hadn’t subsided. Desperate for relief after waking up at 3am in pain, I found this product and after only 1 full day of using it morning and night I feel barely any pain! Didn’t offer immediate relief like it did for some people but it did soothe my jaw the first time I applied it because of the minty feel. Also my sockets looked red and now they are a nice pink color like normal! I will continue to use it once the pain is fully gone to aid with healing. Directions

DIRECTIONS:

3 • 3 • 3 StellaLife Program: 3 days before, 3 times per day, all 3 products

Adults and children over 6 years of age. Start 3 days before the surgery or procedure to increase therapeutic levels. Continue for 7 days after the procedure. Apply 3 times per day, preferably after meals. Refrain from drinking or eating for at least 20 minutes after application. Use all three products at the same time in the order outlined. Consult your healthcare professional for use in children under 6 years of age.

STEP 1: VEGA Oral Care Rinse 
■ Swish 1/2 - 3/4 tablespoonful (7ml to 10ml) for 1-2 minutes, expectorate.

STEP 2: VEGA Oral Care Spray (different from standalone Mist)
■ Spray 4 times under the tongue. 

STEP 3: VEGA Oral Care Gel 
■ Apply to the gum at the surgical area with a cotton swab.
