Dr. Mark Wilson has been practicing periodontology since 1980. His practice is located in downtown Minneapolis in the historic Medical Arts Building, where he has been since 1980. Dr. Wilson began incorporating implants into his practice in 1987. In 2008, he became the first periodontist in Minnesota to introduce Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP) as a treatment for periodontal disease. This procedure is much more comfortable for patients and has been shown to produce better results than traditional periodontal surgery. The laser treatment has been so effective that Dr. Wilson now uses it almost exclusively for the treatment of periodontal issues. In recognition of his expertise, Millennium Dental, the company that makes the LANAP equipment, invited Dr. Wilson to train as a national instructor for the new technology in 2010.  Dr. Wilson is a member of various dental societies, including the American Academy of Periodontology, the Midwest Society of Periodontology, the Minnesota Association of Periodontists (including 5 years as Secretary and 2 years as President), the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society.
